Club M is a non-profit organization that was established on 27 November 1988 for the purpose of carrying out social, recreational and other activities which are beneficial to the members and to the Mauritian community in Toronto and surrounding areas as a whole. It also aims at enhancing the Mauritian cultural heritage in the framework of Canadian multi-cultural policies, fostering unity and friendship among Mauritian in the Toronto and surrounding areas and contributing to the development of a Mauritian community.
Club M organizes various sports and recreation activities thorough out the year, mainly between October and May, for the benefit of its members. The activities are mostly held in the East end of Greater Toronto Area, that is, in the city of Richmond Hill, Markham and Scarborough where the majority if its members reside. Although Club M’s objective is to promote unity and friendship among mauritians in Canada, membership is open to anyone who would like to get to know more about Mauritius and who agrees with the Club’s constitutions and by-laws.
It was incorporated on March 9, 1990 under the name Regroupement Mauricien de Toronto in the Province of Ontario.
