  • Support Families & Friends of Mauritius

Fundraising campaign to support those affected by flooding in Port-Louis on March 31, 2013

On March 31, 2013, Port-Louis, the capital city of Mauritius, located in the Indian Ocean, was left paralyzed after a torrential downpour ravaged the streets, blocking roads, flooding homes, offices and shops and disabling phone services. Sadly, as a result, at least eleven people were reported dead, others are still missing and hundreds were left homeless, having lost all their personal belongings to the disaster.

As families and friends of Mauritius, this is a time for reflection and to take action. In an effort to demonstrate solidarity, I invite you to support those affected by the flood in Mauritius by clicking on the below link and donating, no matter how small, to Families & Friends of Mauritius.

All funds raised will help make a tangible, long-term difference in the lives of the victims of the flood through our partnership with One Island Institute, an organization whose long-term strategy is to support the victims beyond their immediate needs and to put them in the right path for a sustainable and promising future.

Information regarding the campaign, including perks and the campaign's progress, will be available on a continuous basis at the below link. If you require any additional details, you can also contact us at

Please help us spread the message and reach our goal. Tell your families and friends about the campaign and together we can make a difference.

We thank you in advance for your support.
